Scholarship Guidelines

MCAT preparation Course

Students may receive funding one time only for:

• Princeton Review MCAT Prep
• Kaplan On-Demand Prep
• Kaplan In-Person Prep

MCAT Study Materials

Students may request funding for approved MCAT study books at the time they apply for their preparation course.

Maximum Award: $176

MCAT Examination Fee

Students may apply for reimbursement or payment of the MCAT examination fee ($355) for up to two examination attempts.

Recognizing that some students may need to retake the examination to strengthen their medical school application, this scholarship will support a second exam if necessary.

Lifetime Award Limit

Regardless of the combination of awards received, the total amount awarded to an individual student may not exceed $5,000.

Awards will be capped once a student reaches the $5,000 lifetime maximum. 

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be pursuing admission to an accredited U.S. Medical School.
• Be a Monterey County resident for at least one year.
• Be preparing to take the MCAT.
• Demonstrate financial need.
• Demonstrate commitment to a career in medicine.
• Complete the scholarship application through Submittable.
• Meet all application deadlines.
• Previously completed or are currently participating in the Montage Health Foundation Mentoring in Medicine program.

Award Distribution

Scholarships will not be distributed directly to students whenever possible.

Payments will be made directly to the approved vendor, including:

• Princeton Review
• Kaplan
• AAMC (when applicable)

If direct payment is not available, students may submit proof of payment for reimbursement according to Montage Health Foundations scholarship policies.

Book awards will be:

• Reimbursed upon submission of receipts

MCAT exam fees will require submission of:

• Registration confirmation
• Payment receipt
• Scheduled examination date
